To Turn to the Dark Side, Press 3

Image
This fic is based on Star Wars, specifically the prequels. It is a movie trilogy that tells the origins of Darth Vader, formerly Anakin Skywalker, and his wife Padme, mother of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. He begins as a valiant and heroic jedi padawan, but rather than follow his Jedi Master, Obi Wan Kenobi, he becomes corrupted by the dark side. Heavily influenced by Chancellor Palpatine, who is secretly Sith Lord Dark Sidious, he turns on his former friends and compatriots. All of this to attempt to stop the recurring prophetic dream he has of Padme dying in childbirth, as the dark side has no limits, whereas jedi must respect the balance that exists between life and death. Ultimately, Anakin has a final battle with Obi Wan that leaves him severely burned and disfigured. Darth Sidious then has robots operate on him and put him in the Darth Vader suit, with robotic limbs, in order to keep him alive. Simultaneously, Padme gives birth alone, dying in childbirth, ...

Last blog!!! And the completion of my mission to self teach making perfect sourdough loaves. It took some experimenting, but I tried out making some small ones with inclusions. They were mid at best. But I did a bunch of research and pored over the sourdough reddit.  Today I baked off my final inclusion loaves after everything I had learned. I used dried or freeze dried fruits instead of fresh to prevent extra liquid from messing up the texture. I did half loaves just in case something went wrong and also so my family wouldn’t be left with so much. I did one blueberry cheesecake, one cherry apple, one orange cranberry, and one plain for my grandma. I took them out of the fridge this morning and baked them. They turned out PERFECT but the real test was the inside… So I waited an hour until they were finally ready to cut. Thankfully the inside was light, fluffy, and had just the right amount of air pockets to make a nice texture. So yeah, basically in like 5 days I learned to m...

This morning I cut open the sourdough and it was perfect. Super soft and springy, with a crispy crust and lots of bubbles. I was scared it was going to be dense but it was the total opposite. So hype. I ate a slice with black cherry jam and butter for breakfast and it was sooo amazing. My sister and dad made sandwiches with it for lunch and my mom also made toast. All of them loved it. There isn’t much left now but luckily I already started the next one. I was feeling lazy. Mainly because I went to bed late, got woken up at 7:30 by the dogs, begging to be let out and fed over an hour earlier than usual. Then I went back to sleep around 8 and was pretty groggy when I eventually woke up. I made my toast and an iced latte. I didn’t have a clear plan today. I had ideas, but I was not energized whatsoever.  I decided to feed the starter again to start on another loaf bc my mom’s friend wants one and we’re low. It’s really time intensive, but so easy. My goal is to have enough star...

I’m so wiped. I picked up some sourdough starter from a local bakery and started feeding it. My first ever loaf is in the oven for another proof right now. Tbh I don’t think it will be that great but only bc I’m impatient/don't want to be up all night working on it. I did follow the recipe, just waited all of the minimum times lol. Today I made eggs and some cinnamon french toast sticks. They’re so good I’m actually so bummed I used the last couple. But they’re also so addictive and I could easily go through a box in a few days. Then I got ready and went to the bakery to pick up starter. After that, the grocery store to get bread flour and a few other things I needed. My dad let me know when my mom would be landing after she had an important proposal, so I decided I’d make her her favorite scones. As I went through a million recipes that varied from 8 hours to 2 days, I quickly realized I could not in fact finish the sourdough loaf by 6:15pm. So scones it was.  I got home and...

Lowkey forgot about this, but I must lock in again. Dinner ended up being my least favorite food (pork barbecue, sorry if this offends anyone). So I regret not just stopping for a damn chicken sandwich.  I’ve had a busy break already. My sister had a dance competition in Washington, DC, so I came as her chaperone. It was pretty fun. I got to be her makeup artist as well, which I always enjoy. Since I moved from here, I don’t really do that work anymore unless I happen to be in town during homecoming or prom season. I used to always do my sister’s dance makeup. She loved it and said she felt like a celebrity. Now I’m home dog sitting for most of the week and trying to come up with fun things to do aside from my responsibilities. I’ve been thinking about trying to make sourdough. I like watching sourdough tutorials and it could be a cool thing to get into since I already like baking so much. Starter takes weeks to make though so I hit up a local sourdough bakery on instagram an...

That drive was soooo long and soooo boring. My ass is sore as hell. Idk how those truck drivers do it. They must not feel anything from the waist down.  At least I committed. No stops. But dehydrated as fuck. and hungry I missed my dogs soooo much. But now I’m covered in hair. It’s kinda poky and itchy.  They probably already forgot I even left. I wonder what it’s like to have no concept of time. That’s lowkey how I felt while listening to a 3 part several hour podcast about Diddy on the way. Except I can’t forget it. So much baby oil…
