 That drive was soooo long and soooo boring.

My ass is sore as hell. Idk how those truck drivers do it. They must not feel anything from the waist down. 

At least I committed. No stops. But dehydrated as fuck.

and hungry

I missed my dogs soooo much. But now I’m covered in hair. It’s kinda poky and itchy. 

They probably already forgot I even left. I wonder what it’s like to have no concept of time. That’s lowkey how I felt while listening to a 3 part several hour podcast about Diddy on the way. Except I can’t forget it. So much baby oil…

Author’s Note: This is my personal love letter to r/nosleep lol. I tried to insert as many references to the tropes found in so many of these horror stories that strive for believability. The internet is a labyrinth. Dead ends and pathways. Infinite and alluring. It is inescapable. Its walls of knowledge towering overhead and casting their shadow on my face. To it, I am small. An insect with an insatiable hunger to learn and answer all of the questions that fill my mind. It is maddening; trying to make my way to its center; knowing my answer is out there but the journey seeming never ending. Distractions and rabbit holes to fall down at every angle. I must steel myself and resist their appeal, if not, I will become lost. I will forget why I even entered the labyrinth to begin with. I hold my question in my mind and turn back around, desperate to find the center. The answer that will make this journey worth it. I travel further and further in, just to reach wall after wall. Typing into the search bar new ways to phrase or approach my question, which unlock and reveal to me new spiraling corridors of articles, links, videos, images, and more questions. Dreams and Fears

Soft breathing played from the phone’s speaker, her own personal white noise. Eyes closed in the pitch dark, she could almost feel the hot air against the back of her neck. A small snort and breathy murmur emitted and she held back a giggle. He was fast asleep. There was something about the vulnerability. The talking and gradual intermittent yawns. The slurring. The eyelids no longer able to part. But neither person willing to say goodnight and end it. Warmth filled her belly, fireflies illuminating a dark cave. The all-encompassing darkness of the room wrapped around her like a tight embrace. When she opened her eyes, all of her familiar surroundings were gone. She was outside. She didn’t remember how she got there, nor did she remember not being there. The air was heavy and she was shrouded by ancient-looking trees.
